A Fix for Spring Wash - Introducing the Heartland Mulch Aid™ Spray System
By: Jennifer McCann, Marketing Coordinator
It happens every spring - many of you have experienced it – the dreaded “spring wash.” A freshly colored mulch pile is still wet, it rains heavily and the colorant is washed off the
surface of the pile. If a delivery is made and the mulch is spread when it is still damp, this can also occur. While we recommend that you not color if rain is expected and that you limit deliveries in the same situation, you can’t always control Mother Nature!
Since spring wash does occur, Amerimulch wanted to give our customers an option to alleviate this problem. Our equipment team came up with the Heartland Mulch Aid Spray System. This system allows you to apply colorant to any mulch that has experienced spring wash (once the colorant has dried it is locked onto the wood and will not wash away). This is an easy fix that you, the producer, can offer your customers as a solution for this pesky problem.
