By George Chase, President of Amerimulch
Sit down with almost any salesman from any industry, and they all will tell you that their company provides quality products or services that are competitively priced -- that they offer good service and provide good "value." And if you talk to ten different salesmen a day, chances are you’ll hear ten different versions of the same story. As a customer, you can easily determine if that company’s products or services are competitively priced, are of the quality you require and are provided to you when you want them. But when it comes to determining the "value" component of what they offer, it usually is nothing more than another nebulous buzzword that no one can identify or quantify. At Amerimulch we talk about Real Tangible Value.
The concept of delivering Real Tangible Value to the colored mulch industry is a new and important business philosophy created by Amerimulch. The word "tangible" is defined as something that you can see, touch, feel or measure. Tangible value, therefore, is a real benefit our customers experience by doing business with Amerimulch, and they would not receive it if they did business with someone else.
Some examples of how Amerimulch provides Real Tangible Value are:
The Amerimulch Customer Tribute and Technical Conference. Our Customer Tribute is the world’s only 2.5 day event of technical presentations and social events focused on color-enriched mulch producers. Experts on topics of critical importance to our audience provide educational presentations on key production issues, and afterward there is plenty of time for fun and interaction with other attendees.
Website Reference Library and Upcoming Blog. At past Customer Tributes, we’ve had presentations from industry experts on mold control, fire suppression in mulch piles, termites, grinders, screeners, the current state of wood fiber supply, and on and on. In 2008, we are going to catalog these presentations and will have them available to our customers as a central reference library on our website. Our intention is to make our
website the most vital, complete and easy-to-use source for information critical to colored mulch producers available.
Bulk Tank Delivery for Black Colorant. With our recent acquisition of Solution Dispersions, we have the capability to deliver tanker trucks to large users of black mulch colorants. The use of Bulk Tanks eliminates the handling, cleaning, storage and disposal of black totes.
Multiple Distribution and Manufacturing Sites. Again, with our acquisition of Solutio Dispersions, we now have manufacturing capabilities in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas and Arizona. Our Nevada distribution center services the West Coast and the Northwestern United States. By being closer to our customers, we can offer improved delivery, reduce inventory to deliver fresher products and contain freight cost.
Amerimulch has a Knowledgeable, Competent and Experienced Professional Sales Team. Amerimulch field sales professionals know and understand the color enriched mulch business. When they visit your site, they bring a wealth of information and knowledge to help you reduce your operating costs. They are not afraid to pitch in and get their hands dirty.
Valuable Inside Sales Support. The Amerimulch inside sales team answers your questions and responds to your requests for information fast. Need to buy or sell a piece of equipment? Need to supplement your wood fiber supply? Our inside sales team maintains a database of customer needs and tries to match buyers with sellers to benefit our customers.
The Amerimulch Newsletter. The Amerimulch Newsletter is published quarterly and is intended to inform our customers about important issues affecting the colored mulch industry. We were the first voice to our customers and to the industry warning about the dangers of CC&A treated wood in mulch applications.
The Amerimulch Customer Application and Development Laboratory. On or about April 15, Amerimulch will dedicate this new lab facility to support our customers’ requests for scientific data about their products and ours. The new lab will house sophisticated instrumentation to measure and test the performance of
existing and potential new products.
Continuous Innovation. Amerimulch invented colored mulch and patented the first colored mulch production machine in the early 1990’s. Since that time, our company has introduced a long list of new equipment and products that has solidified our position as the innovative leader in our industry.
Future editions of our newsletter will examine in more detail how each of these examples deliver the Real Tangible Value we profess to our customers -- the kind of value our customers will be able to see, feel, touch or measure and is not available from any other mulch colorant supplier.
